Handiaya Bazar, Barnala today by MLA-Barnala Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon in which Capt. Amarinder Singh (Ex-CM, Punjab) participated along with S. Lal Singh (MLA), Smt. Harchand Kaur (MLA), S. Sukhpal Singh Khaira (MLA), Sh. Vijayinder Singla (MP), Rana Gurjit Singh (ex-MP), Smt. Surinder Kaur Walia, and thousands of Congress workers.
The Key objectives of this mammoth gathering / rally which was very keenly and actively attended by the residents of Barnala and nearby villages was:
The recent unfortunate episode in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha where th
e opposition MLA’s specially Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon (MLA Barnala) were not allowed to speak and raise public interest causes and issues concerning our people of Punjab such as the deterioting law and order situation arising out of the mishandling of the situation following migrant labour problem and killing of person during protest against religious congregation due to which the daily life was disturbed and thrown out of gear. Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon went on to say that the present SAD-BJP government is a complete failure as farmers are committing suicides, electricity is not available, law and order is in shambles, industry is at its worst and no new investment is coming, failure to implement the Fifth Punjab Pay Commission Report for its employees amongst numerous others. The financial position of the present government has deteriorated so bad that the loan amount has touched to an alarming level of Rs. 63,000 crores during the last 2½ years of the SAD-BJP rule for which more than Rs. 15 crores is payable as interest per day i.e. almost Rs. 500 crores per month.
The step-up the Enrollment drive of the Congress(I) under the dynamic leadership of Smt. Sonia Gandhi (President) and Shri Rahul Gandhi (General Secretary) by enrolling maximum number of persons by educating and guiding them with the progressive policies of the Congress. It is well-worthy mentioning that more than 45 Lakh enrollment forms have already been distributed till now in Punjab.
Capt. Amarinder Singh (Ex-CM, Punjab) while fully appreciating and endorsing the dynamic role and active involvement of Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon (MLA Barnala), despite Political Vendetta, in raising key public interest issues and speaking for the people of Punjab in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha against the total failure of the ruling SAD-BJP Government on all fronts presented him with a Turban in appreciation for the courage and valour shown by Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon in raising his voice in the interest of Punjab.
The residents of Barnala also showed their high regards and respect for Capt. Amarinder Singh and their MLA Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon by turning in huge numbers to make this rally a huge success and paying back their gratitude for making Barnala the youngest District of Punjab during the last Congress Government and restoring back the lost respect and glory of Barnala. Further, the people of Barnala thanked them both for developing various key Road work projects, 2 Railway Over-Bridges and grants to various villages etc. during the last Congress regime under the dynamic leadership of Capt. Amarinder Singh.
